Devaney & Associates was recently honored with five awards by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Maryland Chapter. The agency received first-place Best in Maryland recognition in two categories and Awards of Excellence in three categories for its client work.
A Healthy Dose magazine, a publication created by Devaney & Associates for client Carroll Hospital, won the 2017 Best in Maryland: Magazines/Newsletters—Print. The tri-annual publication features patient stories, interviews with physicians, and updates on hospital programs and technology. Every issue includes completely custom content designed to educate residents on health and wellness issues, raise awareness for helpful hospital resources, and keep the community informed of important hospital happenings. The publication works, routinely generating spikes in web traffic and patient requests for nearly every service it features.
Carroll Hospital was also presented an Award of Excellence for the Carroll Hospice campaign. Devaney & Associates launched this fully integrated marketing campaign to educate consumers on the life-affirming benefits that hospice can provide. The campaign’s incredible results—most notably a 47% increase in hospice patient days—demonstrated that more people now understand that hospice care isn’t about giving up on your loved one. It’s about making the most of every moment you have together.
The Best in Maryland Award for the Media Relations – For Profit category went to Route One Apparel. In 2016, Devaney & Associates created and executed a comprehensive public relations program that successfully positioned Route One Apparel as the trailblazer in Maryland pride purchasing, and established founder Ali von Paris as one of the area’s fastest-rising young entrepreneurs. The campaign garnered nearly two dozen major print and television placements in virtually every noteworthy regional media outlet as well as a number of high-profile awards and accolades for von Paris.
The annual report released by client Chase Brexton, created by Devaney & Associates, was awarded the 2017 Award of Excellence: Annual Reports. This report garnered praise and awe from the organization’s employees. The theme—We Are Chase Brexton—was a rallying cry. Using employee and patient stories, the publication communicated that Chase Brexton isn’t an organization of corporate “suits.” It’s a diverse collective of people from all walks of life who share a vision for a stronger community.
An Award of Excellence for Reputation/Brand Management was awarded to Leadership Maryland, a professional development program dedicated to building a stronger Maryland by educating, cultivating, and connecting our state’s brightest leaders. Devaney & Associates led Leadership Maryland through the implementation of its new brand positioning: “The Strength Within.” By the end of 2016, the campaign successfully generated more than 50 media placements in a variety of outlets across the state, and significant increases in Leadership Maryland’s social media following and applications for the next class year.
