Backed by a mammoth marketing budget—and an impressive Baltimore Ravens endorsement—one of the region’s largest health care systems, MedStar Health, was expanding its orthopaedic service line into Carroll Hospital’s primary marketing territory. Carroll Hospital needed a way to protect its patient volume from the marketing onslaught.
In response, Devaney & Associates created one of the largest integrated marketing campaigns in Carroll Hospital history. Using real patient “before and after” stories, the campaign proved that Carroll Hospital’s care isn’t just better—it is literally life-changing.
More than 50 campaign elements and hundreds of media placements delivered our message throughout the region.
In the end, we not only protected Carroll Hospital’s ground—we actually grew its patient volumes. Orthopaedic surgeries increased 15%. Orthopaedic appointments grew by nearly 10%.
Our social media efforts also got the attention of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, who asked Carroll Hospital Center to participate in its nationwide patient education campaign, A Nation in Motion.
